Courses for children can be arranged to suit individual requirements or your child may prefer to learn with a friend or group of friends. The cost is usually between £15 and £40 depending on the type of course and length of session. It it difficult to advise how many sessions will be needed until your childs ability has been assessed. It will also depend on what you want your child to learn.
RANGE OF COURSES AVAILABLE
Get your child off stabilisers and onto two wheels. One to one sessions will soon have them riding confidently.
Training for absolute beginners to ride a cycle.
Want your child to learn the basics of cycling on the road before they actually do it. One to one or groups sessions are available.
Level 1 Skills Course
Consists of two 2 hour sessions usually on consecutive days. Training takes place in a traffic free environment (usually a playground) and provides a grounding in the basic skills that will be used when progressing to Level 2. The emphasis is on fun, confidence and control.
Level 2 Combined Level 1 and 2 Basic On-Road Course.
Consists of four 2 hour sessions usually on consecutive days. Day 1 is a 2 hour session in a traffic free environment which includes bike check and assessment of Level 1 skills. Days 2-4 are 2 hour sessions at local road junctions. Level 2 is a introduction to riding on the road, based around making Turns at T-Junctions and correct road positioning to optimise safety for the cyclist.
Level 3 Advanced On-Road Course
Consists of three 2 hour sessions usually on consecutive days. This is a more advanced level whereby the pupil is looking to make journeys in different situations and on more varied road conditions and complex junctions. Suitable for children transferring to secondary school and wanting to cycle to school.
All you need to do now is choose a time and date convenient to you, I will meet you at your home and carry out the training locally.
All your child needs is a bike in good condition. I also recommend that all children wear cycle helmets while out riding.
Special needs - Should your child have any special needs such as Asthma, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Cystic Fibrosis please make me aware of any special requirements prior to the first lesson.
